Tommy Robinson Claims that His ‘Silenced’ Film Was Funded by Alex Jones

October 29, 2024

This peculiar story was given to us today by Our Favourite Non-Historian. There’s been the predictable outrage at Robinson getting 18 months in jail. His supporters have been complaining about its injustice while various foreign and Muslims crims have been given much lighter sentences. Like the Muslims who attacked the police at one of the airports a couple of months ago have been bailed and are walking about scot free. Webb states that he expects Robinson to be out in four months’ time because of the issues of overcrowding and so on. He’ll miss Christmas, January and February but should be out following them. This sounds possible, but I’m not sure. Robinson has annoyed too many people with his antics and pretence journalism, and I get the impression that the authorities’ patience has finally snapped.

But the substance of Webb’s video is that Robinson has said through his lawyer, a woman with a formidable history of defending her clients, that the film that got him arrested for contempt, Silenced, was funded by Alex Jones of Infowars notoriety. Jones is the notorious Texan conspiracy theorist who got hit with a billion dollar or so fine for libelling the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre. This was a school shooting that Jones declared was fake, and libelled the grieving parents and family of those murdered as ‘crisis actors’. After years of being insulted by Jones’ gullible viewers online and in real life, the parents sued and got justice. Jones has field for bankruptcy, but has been giving his money to relatives and corporate entities in order to avoid having to pay anything to them. He is still, in reality, immensely rich. What this plea from Robinson means, I don’t know. I don’t know if he hopes that the people who sued him will go after Jones, or if this is a partial attempt to deny responsibility for its content. But if Jones is involved, there might be more to this sorry affair than first appears.

Hope Not Hate Responsible for Misogyny Now a Terrorist Offence

This is another claim History Debunked has made in a recent video. Remember all the fuss there was a few months ago when Labour stated that misogyny was going to be crime under the provisions of their new Hate Crimes bill? There was the usual outcry about Labour clamping down on free speech, and the possibility of men being arrested for telling sexist jokes about women not being able to park and opening doors for ladies. I think the legislation is actually directed at incels of the same type as the maniac a few years ago who killed a woman, small girls and their fathers in Plymouth or somewhere. It may also be a response to the really sick culture of real woman-haters that call genuine women ‘gynoids’ and post videos online of women being beaten up. These misogynists were also in the news a few years ago and were the subject of feminist campaigning. I don’t know how large this culture is. I’d never heard of it, as most people probably haven’t, and there hasn’t been much more about it since. And as far as I know, that vile massacre down in Plymouth was the only one of its kind, and, God willing, the last. The misogyny clause in the Hate Crimes bill won’t lead to ordinary men being arrested for telling Bernard Manning-type jokes.

The clause was attributed to feminists in the Labour party, but according to Webb it was introduced by Hope Not Hate, the anti-racism organisation. He also claimed they’d received £50,000 of taxpayers’ money from the Home Office via Special Branch. It’s possible. Special Branch has been keeping an eye on racists since the 1930s, when they sent their detectives to monitor meetings of the real Nazi groups of the time, like Arnold Leese’s bunch, the Britons and English Mistery. I have mixed feelings about them, though. While they’re right to go hunting Nazis, the bulk of terrorism and political extremism in this country comes from Islamism. There is also a culture of Black and Asian racism that is barely mentioned by the mainstream press and the authorities, as exemplified in in Dawn Butler’s nasty little poem from Black History Month. An investigation of the government deradicalisation programmes found that they had shifted the focus from Islamism to White racism and had frequently been hijacked and co-opted by the Muslim organisations they should have been investigating. There seems to be a deliberate attempt by the authorities to downplay ethnic radicalism and play up indigenous White racism, possibly as a way of avoid accusations of institutional racism and difficult questions about whether or not multiculturalism is really working. I think that’s behind the weird film by Hampshire county council about how to spot radicalisation, where the extremist is a White British lad with an interest in Green politics who leaves anti-immigration literature at a bird watching hide. Hope Not Hate used to investigate Islamic hate preachers as well as White Nazis, but I think they’ve dropped this in order to concentrate on the much safer area of White radicalism. Their inclusion of misogyny as a form of dangerous terrorism seems to me to be a part of the general trend to inflate the danger of White terrorism and disaffection against the genuinely larger threat of Islamism.
