Scottish Tory inflames dangerous sectarian tensions with unprofessional tweets

Some of us can still remember the scandal a few years ago when one of Rangers’ management was caught singing sectarian songs at a shindig. There were profuse apologies soon after. Clearly, Mr Fraser hasn’t yet got used to trying put aside religious prejudices and hatreds. It’s yet more proof that the Tory party is just packed with bigots of various stripes.

While the majority of Rangers and Celtic supporters do not get involved in sectarianism, serious events have occurred over the years.

Which is why members of parliament – the professional ones anyway – usually make sure they are above base sectarianism.

So it’s hard to put into words just how stupid Tory MSP Murdo Fraser’s tweets were after today’s Old Firm match. Fraser is playing with fire:

Expect a ticking off from Tory Central and an imminent ‘heartfelt’ apology.
