This is very interesting indeed, as it shows just what a coward Donald Trump is when it comes to actually debating someone with substance.
Fox News Monday night broadcast a town-hall style debate between the Democratic presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. In this short clip from Secular Talk, Kyle Kulinski comments on a report in the New York Times that this had its origin in a proposed debate between Sanders and Trump. This would have been the first time a debate had been broadcast between two opposing presidential candidate before the parties had formerly decided on who their candidates would be. Sanders agreed to the idea, and Trump initially showed some interest, before pulling out. Clinton, who had been asked to come on after Trump left, had also turned it down. When she found out that Fox intended to devote the entire hour to an interview with Bernie, she suddenly found that she was interested in debating the Democratic Socialist candidate after all.
Kulinski states that this is so typical of the candidates. Sanders agreed to the debate, as he would. Clinton’s not interested, as it’s a right-wing network, until she finds that her opponent will then have the airwaves to himself. And Trump is all macho bluster, until he realises that he will have to be debate policy with someone who knows something about it, and who he can’t call corrupt ’cause he isn’t.
