Shop Charges Tory Customers Extra

May 12, 2015

This is another excellent little pic I found over on the SlatUKIP Facebook page.

Tory Shop Tax

If you can’t read it, the text says

Important Notice

Please could anyone who voted Conservative please identify themselves on entering my shop as I will be happy to apply a 10 % ‘Tory Tax’ on your plants. I’m sure as someone who has opted to support a party of elitist, self-serving types, that you understand that this is one of the many ‘tough’ decisions that I need to make to ‘balance the books’ under your preferred government.

Don’t be a shy Tory! Oh, and UKIP voters, please shop elsewhere.

Thanks, Matt.

It’s a great piece of satire, skewering all the Tory rhetoric of making ‘tough’ decisions to ‘balance the books’.

It also bears out a piece Tom Pride put up last week, shortly before he decided to take a break from blogging. Most small businessmen don’t vote Tory, as the Thatcherites would like us to believe. They support Labour.

Arkwright has crossed the electoral floor, so to speak, and now sees the threat to the s-s-small businessman as coming from big business, rather than organised Labour and the unions.

And so falls another Thatcherite myth, of Maggie as the workers’ friend, living above her father’s shop. She was never their friend, and the small businessmen in whose interest she claimed to champion, have turned their back on her after being thoroughly betrayed and ground down by her party of the rich and big business.

Anti-UKIP Vote Meme

May 5, 2015

This is another meme I found over at the SlatUKIP facebook site. It’s their tweets from last night, collected into a comprehensive list of reasons why no-one should vote for the Kippers. It was done by one of their readers, OgdenW.

It comprehensively describes the double standards and mendacity of a party, which consistently tries to present an image of happy moderation while standing for the extreme right, bigotry and intolerance. The list of reasons includes its racism, its hatred of immigrants, Islamophobia, anti-women’s rights and hatred and contempt for LGBT. It also lists it’s policies in favour of stripping working people of their employment rights and furthering their exploitation, as well as their support for fox-hunting, fracking and other policies, which would wreck the countryside. As well as their support for gun ownership.

It also shows how we would lose trade if we left the EU, contrary to the Kippers’ predictions.

And finally, there’s the personal faults of Farage himself, a millionaire banker, who is definitely not a ‘man of the people’, as well as a ‘functioning alcoholic’ who spends 5-6 hours a day by his own admission in pubs.

National Front Intimidation of Labour Canvassers in Broadstairs, Kent

April 26, 2015

The stormtroopers of the Far Right may be declining in the numbers, but they’re still up to their old tricks. I found this video on the SlatUKIP page of them marching up and down the seafront in Broadstairs in Kent, yelling abuse at the Labour canvassers there. The video was originally taken by the goose-steppers themselves, who for some reason decided to take it down. But not before it was saved and put up by the good peeps at the SlatUKIP site. It’s at

The stormtroopers can be heard shouting ‘paedophile appeasers’, presumably referring to the atrocious behaviour by Rotherham council in covering up the systematic abuse of White girls by the Asian grooming gang.

However, rape, child abuse and sexual exploitation are by no means confined to any one section of the community. And the stormtroopers of the Far Right have absolutely no business accusing anyone of child abuse. Not when so many members of the British Nazi fringe have been convicted of crimes against children. See the various articles at Hope Not Hate and over at EDL News. There’s an entire article there listing the various Nazis, who have been found guilty of abusing children. Just be warned – it’s a very long, and ignominious one.

A few years ago when it looked like the BNP was going to make its electoral breakthrough, Nick Griffin tried his best to play down his party’s thuggish reputation. They weren’t goose-stepping, ugly bruisers looking to beat up anyone, who happened to be a different colour, or believed in the dangerously subversive idea of democracy and equality. No, they were respectable, community-based politicians.

Then the BNP suffered a massive decline in support, and once again split into various warring factions. And as the numbers dwindled, the Fascists turned back to their roots and all the old ways began to come back. So it’s back to anti-Semitism, and abuse and intimidation of Blacks and Asians, and, of course, the Left.

Newzoids Spoofs Nigel Farage

April 24, 2015

These are a couple of videos from ITV’s satirical puppet show, Newzoids. The show’s a mixture of puppetry and CGI animation. It was billed as the 21st century’s successor to the classic Spitting Image. They were seriously considering bringing that series back, but the idea was dropped because the series would simply have been too expensive given inflation, lower production expenditure and advertising revenue, and stricter health and safety legislation. For the latter, Fluck and Law, the creators of the puppets used in the series, expressed amazement at the relative disregard they had for proper safety standards when they were using highly toxic and flammable materials.

The puppets used in Newzoids are rather different to those in Spitting Image. They’re less complex, rubber hand puppets and more like solid, wooden figurines moved by sticks. Or at least, that’s the image the animation gives.

The satire, though, is still very sharp. In this sketch, Nigel Farage is shown as a Bernard Manning-style stand up club comedian, railing and sneering about immigrants. The crowd heckles him, reminding him of how false and hypocritical his claims are, and that he’s actually a millionaire banker with a foreign wife.

I found the second sketch below on the SlatUKIP page. It shows the Purple Duce again as an actor, though this time he’s a vaudeville comedian singing a song about how he’s really an ordinary British bloke. All the while, his alter ego is reminding him that he’s actually a millionaire, with a very expensive education, a German wife, and far from being British, he’s actually French Huguenot in ancestry.

Pop Music: Ministry of Merkin Send Up Godfrey Bloom

April 23, 2015

This is another video I discovered on the SlatUKIP Facebook page. It’s the comedy pop band, Ministry of Merkin, spoofing Godfrey Bloom of Kipper infamy. Bloom is responsible for many offensive comments and views, but is probably most notorious for his remark about immigrants and ‘Bongo Bongo Land’.

The Merkins portray Bloom as a beer-swilling upper class boor with a brutal, domineering attitude to his secretary and a massive gay crush on Farage.

Warning: there’s very strong language in here almost from the start, so as they say, it’s not suitable for those of a nervous disposition. Mind you, neither is Bloom, Farage, or indeed, the rest of UKIP.

Anti-Kipper Meme: St. George Is an Immigrant

April 23, 2015

I found this meme against rising xenophobia, and, by implication, UKIP over at the SlatUKIP site. It follows a number of similar posters that have been put up around the country, showing individual immigrants, and the vital work they do. Like firemen, lifeboatmen, internet entrepreneurs and so on.

This one is of England’s very own patron saint, St. George.

St George Immigrant

Yup. St. George is an immigrant. His cult was brought to England and popularised by knights returning from the Crusades. Before then, England’s patron saint was St Edmund, an Anglo-Saxon king, who had been martyred by the invading Vikings.

The real St George was a Roman soldier from what is now Turkey, who was executed during the Roman persecution of Christianity for refusing to give up his Christian faith. Over time, the legend grew up around him that he was a knight, who rescued a damsel from the dragon.

Along with St George, the Crusades saw other influences from the Eastern Orthodox churches enter England and the Roman Catholic West. The churches built by the Knights Templars, the crusading order made notorious through later accusations of devil worship and works of pseudo-history like Holy Blood, Holy Grail, were built in a beehive shape, like those of the Syriac and Armenian churches.

And across the Channel in France, several of the new churches built in the 12th century were for Coptic Christians from Egypt, or were at least built according to their churches’ plans.

A few years ago, one of the Beeb’s programme on medieval history also showed that there were clues that some, at least, of the masons working on England’s cathedrals in the 12th century – I think it may have been York minister – were Arabs, due to Arab influences in the building’s design and possibly some remains of Arabic script found on some of the stones. Certainly there was a artisan recorded in London, as ‘Peter the Saracen’. It’s also about this time that the first images and written records of Black people in England appear. There used to be a section about Black people in England on the website of the National Archives, including a miniature picture of one from a 12th century manuscript.

And one of England’s medieval kings even received communion from a Syriac clergyman, Rabban Sauma, when he visited England in the 12th or 13th century.

Which all shows that people of Black and Asian descent have been around in England much longer than Nige and the other Kippers think.

Spot the Difference: Farage and Thunderbirds’ Puppet

April 20, 2015

This is another hilarious meme I found on the SlatUKIP page. It shows the striking resemblance to the Purple Duce, and Lady Penelope’s butler from Gerry Anderson’s Thunderbirds.

Butler Penelope Farage

I far rather prefer the gentleman on the right. He, his mistress and their supermarionated chums, the Tracy brothers, fearlessly and altruistically saved lives while risking their own week after week. They’re one of the great classics of British SF and children’s television. And I think it’s FAB that they’ve returned to ITV to enchant and delight a new generation of kids. They’re now CGI, and have now been joined by a female member, but the concept and the spirit seems exactly the same.

Thunderbirds are Go!

But let’s hope UKIP stay firmly on the Launchpad.

Yarmouth UKIP Councillor Arrested for Assault

April 19, 2015

Hope Not Hate have reported the arrest of the UKIP councillor for Great Yarmouth, Tom Andrews, for assaulting a campaigner from their organisation. It took place during a meeting of the anti-hate organisation at the Drill Hall in the town.

Their report’s at http://www.hopenothate.org.uk/ukip/ukip-councillor-tom-andrews-arrested-over-alleged-assault-in-great-yarmouth-4399

The man attacked was David Braniff-Herbert, who tweeted the news of his assault and that the man responsible had been arrested.

Weirdest Response Ever by a Kipper to a Simple Question

April 16, 2015

I found this clip over at the SlatUKIP page. It’s from a Channel 4 tweet, and has been put up on the B3ta Facebook page. The interviewer asks an elderly gent his name, and the man says, in a carefully measured voice ‘My buttocks are smooth, my mind is clear, vote UKIP.’

?!

I think the elderly gentleman was trying to say that despite his age, he was still firm of mind and body, and unbowed by age, was voting UKIP. Just in case you thought that they were all decrepit and senile.

I know a lot of active elderly people, who very definitely have all their faculties. But I don’t think this bloke’s strange answer is due to his advanced age. I think he’s just bonkers.

Trade Union Meme on EU Benefits for British Workers

April 10, 2015

This is another meme I found on the SlatUKIP page. It’s been produced by Unite the Union. It shows the benefits British workers get and are guaranteed by European legislation. These are: protection at work, paid holidays, 48 hour working week, workers’ rights, equal pay, fair treatment if you’re ill, maternity leave, and parental leave to look after children, healthcare on holiday, and rules against discrimination because of race, gender, sexual orientation or religion.

Unite Europe Benefits

These are the real reasons UKIP hates the EU, and why they want to take us out of the European Union. They’re the same reasons the Tories have also become increasingly Eurosceptic, because of the rights granted to British as well as other European workers by the EU social charter.

A long line of Kippers have denounced current legislation giving workers paid holidays, maternity leave and other workers’ rights, claiming that they penalise and created added burdens for industry. Like the Tories, they wish to create a Britain where workers have absolutely no rights, and live in fear of being sacked at the bosses’ whim.

They are very definitely not the party of the people, and are interested in working for no-one except the extremely rich. Just like the Tories they came the oppose.
