BNP to Hold Holocaust Denial Conference in Blackpool

September 25, 2018

Also according to Hope Not Hate, the remains of the BNP were also going to hold a conference at the Talbot Social Club, Blackpool, on the 22nd September 2018. The advertised topic was ‘White victims of Multiculturalism’, but Hope Not Hate suggested instead that, given the people attending, the conference was going to be about Jews and the Holocaust. The anti-racist, anti-religious extremism organization’s article, written by Matthew Collins, gives a graphic description of the very poor levels of hygiene in some of the establishments in which the BNP held their conferences, as well as the very sordid antics those attending got up to. Orgies and drug-taking are only part of it, and it makes for grim reading. It also gives a list and very brief biographical notes of those speaking at the event.

See: https://www.hopenothate.org.uk/2018/09/20/blackpool-host-holocaust-haters/

One of those speaking is Andrew Brons, a long-time Nazi. In the 1980s Brons was a member of the ‘Strasserite’ wing of the National Front. These took their inspiration from Otto and Gregor Strasser, the two members of the Nazi party, who took the ‘socialist’ section of the party’s ideology seriously. Hitler had them purged during the Night of the Long Knives. One of the brothers was killed, and the other fled the country.

Like many others in the NF, Brons liked to dress up in Nazi uniform in the 1970s. He got into the pages of Private Eye for one such incident, which the Eye republished again in the 1990s or early part of this century, when he poked his head out of whatever stone he’d been hiding under once again.

Brons and another Nazi had been and about in Birmingham in Nazi dress, shouting, and, in the Eye’s words, frightening old ladies. A member of Birmingham’s finest arrived to give Brons and the other storm trooper the advice to desist. The officer, incidentally, was Asian. Brons didn’t take the advice, and instead gave the officer a lecture on how there was freedom of speech in this country. But he didn’t expect someone from an inferior race, like the good constable, to understand this.

Which clearly shows what a racist idiot Brons is, and how he was stupidly doing his level best to get himself arrested and spent some time down in the cells.

And from the descriptions of the rest of the stormtroopers planning to attend, they’re no better.

I don’t doubt that some Antifa were there to protest the event. But somehow I doubt very much that there will be anyone from the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism or the Jewish establishment there to demonstrate against these very real racists and anti-Semites. Because they’re far more interested in concocting fake accusations against Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour party in order to preserve Israel from criticism over its vile treatment of the Palestinians. Besides, Israel itself welcomes members of the Far Right, like Trump’s former aide, Steve Bannon, Richard Spencer, the founder and leader of the Alt Right, and Sebastian Gorka, so long as they support the country. As does Stephen Pollard, the gentile editor of the Jewish Chronicle, who wrote a piece in the Groaniad declaring that Michal Kaminski of the far-right Law and Justice Party in Poland wasn’t an anti-Semite, because he was a good friend of Israel.

You can therefore expect no-one, or hardly anyone, from the Jewish establishment to turn up there to protest against people who are, unlike Corbyn, very definitely an existential threat to British Jews.

Protests by Maybots against Hammond’s Public Sector Pay Cap

November 25, 2017

Another interesting report from RT, which you probably didn’t see on the Beeb or the terrestrial channels. Just before Hammond released his decidedly lacklustre, and frankly abysmal budget on Thursday, a group of workers from the GMB dressed as ‘Maybots’ – robotic versions of Theresa May to mock here robotic personality, in protest at the 1 per cent pay cap the Tories have imposed on public sector workers. They made the point that it had condemned 5 million of them to misery over the last five years. The report ends with the news anchor reporting that he had lifted some aspects of it, but not others.

Bostonians Turn Out En Masse Against Nazi Sad-Acts

October 5, 2017

This is another short video, of less than a minute, from male feminist and scourge of the far right, Kevin Logan. It’s of the massive demonstration in Boston, which saw 30,000 people turn out to protest a demonstration by a group of neo-Nazis and White supremacists. Who were massively outnumbered. Just how much they were outnumbered can be seen at the end of the video, complete with the mocking, wilting trombone music to add hilarity at the end of it.

Equal Lives Protest Against Sanctions Tomorrow in Norwich

April 19, 2015

DPAC (Disabled People Against Cuts) have announced on their website that Equal Lives are holding a demonstrations against sanctions tomorrow from 12.30-1.30 pm. at the Kiln House Jobcentre Plus in Pottergate. The notice also includes a contact email for all media inquiries.

This is right over the other side of the country to me. I wish them all the best for their demonstration, and hope they get the point across that sanctions are destroying lives. We have regularly seen the news of yet another poor soul, who has starved to death, or committed suicide due to the deprivation and misery built into Iain Duncan Smith’s wretched welfare reforms. Stilloaks, Tom Pride, Johnny Void, Mike over at Vox Political, myself and many others have posted the lists and biographies of some of those, who have died. The last time I counted it was over 40. It’s gone way beyond that by now. Mike over at Vox Political has estimated that at least 52,000 people are dying per year due to IDS, Cameron, Clegg and their vile chequebook genocide of the poor, the sick and the disabled.

And the Conservatives and their Lib Dem collaborators have even demonstrated their complete lack of shame or self-awareness by using the infamous words above Auschwitz, ‘Arbeit Macht Frei’, ‘Work Makes You Free’, in their self-serving articles justifying workfare and sanctions.

The time is long past that they were gone. Vote them out and make sure they stay out on May 7.

Protests Against Estate Agent CJ Hole in Bristol This Saturday

April 9, 2015

This Saturday, the 11th April, there’s due to be a demonstration by the tenants’ rights group, ACORN, and members of the on-line petitioning group, 38 Degrees, outside the Southville branch of the Bristol estate agent, CJ Hole. The demonstration’s organiser, Nathan Williams, organised a petition on 38 degrees against the estate agent after it sent letters to local landlords asking them if they were receiving enough rent and advising them they could raise them even further.

He explained in the petition that

An estate agent in Bristol called CJ Hole has been sending out letters to its landlord clients asking “Are you getting enough rent?” and “How do you get more rent?”

The letter they are sending to landlords explains that “with rents increasing every week in Bristol, it is highly likely your property is due a rent increase.” It goes on to say that “the demand from tenants is far exceeding the number of available properties and we have never seen such a buoyant rental market.”

It doesn’t once mention the rights of tenants.

The letter shows how some estate agents and landlords are seeking to cynically profit from the housing crisis in Bristol at a time when inflation has declined to 0.3% and deflation is predicted. I think there is no justification for increasing rents at a time when prices are actually going down. In addition, real average earnings have fallen by 8% since 2008.

Such predatory rental practices are an attack on low income people and threaten the most basic of rights – the security of a home to live in.

Bristol’s housing supply has been described by an official report as “in crisis.” In 2013 just 60 affordable homes were built across Bristol.

According to Williams, the petition has so far been signed by 11,400 + people, and the figure is still rising. The boss of five of the CJ Hole branches in Bristol has also denounced the letter. The estate agent is trying to combat this negative publicity by hiring a PR firm.

Mr Williams further explains

We must make sure this petition is just the start of a campaign to stop bad estate agent practice and advance fairer tenants’ rights. The stories signatories told of extortionate rent increases, huge fees, withheld deposits and poor accommodation were all too common. So please get involved this Saturday, check out ACORN, question your MP candidates about their plans for tenants’ rights, vote, and help fight for a fairer future.

The purpose of the demonstration is to force the estate agent to sign the Ethical Lettings Charter. This requires landlords and letting agents to commit to providing accommodation which positively supports the lives of tenants, with an accreditation system reflecting the level of commitment made. In fairness, a number of landlords have already signed up to the charter. The demonstration is due to begin at 11.00 am.

Updates on this and other future campaigns will be tweeted on Action On Rent and ACORN @Action_On_Rent and @ACORN_tweets.

I’m unable to go to these demonstrations, but I wish them every success. There’s a real problem with housing in Bristol and house prices in some parts of the city are comparable to London. They’re so high that local people are unable to afford them.

About four or five years ago now, the archaeology department at Bristol Uni organised a dig on one of the traffic islands used by homeless people in Bristol. This innovative exploration of a pressing issue was organised jointly by Paul Schofield, a leading British archaeologist, and a former archaeological student at the university. She was annoyed at the way Bristol’s working class environment was being closed down and destroyed in order to develop luxury housing for the rich.

With rents and mortgages so high in the city, it is wicked that CJ Hole should be advising their landlord clients to raise their rents even further.
