Jeremy Corbyn Doesn’t Need to Hide in Fridges

This is a very short video from the Guardian of Jeremy Corbyn speaking in Bedford. And he has a dig about the Churchillian strength of will Boris Johnson showed yesterday when he was asked for an interview by Piers Morgan and Susanna Reed. Corbyn says that the Labour manifesto is the product of many people’s work and thoughts and it’s well-founded. They put themselves out there to be questioned about it. Both himself and John McDonnell take questions on it. He, Jeremy Corbyn, doesn’t need to hide in a fridge. There’s applause and hilarity at this. Corbyn continues that while they’re out there accepting democratic scrutiny,  which is so important in an election campaign, while the other party’s doing something else.

Quite. The Tories don’t like proper public scrutiny, which is why their candidates, led by Boris Johnson himself, run away and hide from interviews. They don’t like appearing unless they’re very carefully stage-managed.

It’s time to end this manipulative, contemptuous attitude to public interaction between politicians, the media and voters.

Vote them out, and Corbyn in!
