Book on Slavery in the Oxbow Books Bargain Catalogue

I also found a book on slavery in the Oxbow Books bargain catalogue. It’s called simply Slavery, by Page Dubois, and the blurb goes

As well as detailing the practical aspects of slavery through the ages, dubBois sets aside the majority of the work for discussion of the theoretical issues, such as the definition of slavery, and ancient and modern conceptions of slavery and freedom. She attempts as far as is possible to present the experience of slavery in the words of slaves as much as masters, exploring tactics of resistance and revolt.

This is by OUP as well. It’s normal price is 12.99 pounds, but they’re offering it at 4.95.

There are now an increasing number of books on slavery, but this may also be useful to people interested in the subject, particularly if it gives the words and the views of the slaves themselves.
