Merseyside postal workers boycott Sun World Cup campaign

I am not surprised that the people are boycotting the Sun in Merseyside. After the vile smears the newspaper made about the Liverpool fans causing the Hillsborough disaster, the people of the city of the Beatles went out en masse and cancelled their subscriptions. I also remember that they very publicly burned copies of it. The Sun has since then apologised, and been more supportive of Liverpool and its people. This is because its editor at the time, Kelvin MacKenzie, has now moved on to other papers. He can, however, still be seen occasionally propping up Alan Titchmarsh’s couch on his show in the afternoons.

Royal Mail postal workers in Merseyside are risking the sack by refusing to deliver copies of the Sun newspaper.

One of them explained why:

We would be delivering it to people that were at Hillsborough and to people that lost a loved one or knew someone that died at Hillsborough.

He also said he “felt sick” that he would have to handle it.
