Whatever you do, DON’T share this on the internet about UKIP:

Despite presenting themselves as a Libertarian party, UKIP still haven’t cottoned on to the aspect of the internet that the really serious Libertarians, like Timothy Leary, did long ago: the internet really, really doesn’t like censorship, and if you do try to censor it, it will just reroute the material around it. As Leary and his fellow cyberpunks were fond of saying, ‘Information wants to be free’. Unlike UKIP, who want it securely locked in a sealed room to prevent anybody working out what they’re really doing.

Pride's Purge

(not satire – it’s the UKIP!)

The so-called libertarian party UKIP have been informing the police of anyone who posts things about them they don’t like on the internet.

They are also threatening to sue anyone who uses their logo without their permission.

So much for their supposed support of freedom of speech.

So probably best not to post this anywhere on the internet then:

how can I share it? I think it would be funny to get arrested for nothing, then I could sue their asses and get rich!!!!

It wouldn’t necessarily come to that, as I think UKIP are just throwing their weight around without there being any real substance to their threats. All you’d have to do is say ‘Try’ in this instance, and you’d probably hear no more about it, as UKIP know they wouldn’t be able to back up their legal threats. As for getting rich from prosecuting them, UKIP for most of its career has had problems getting funding. It’s only recently that they’ve managed to get big name Tory donors. So you might not get much money from them, though it would cause a massive scandal that might put a dent in their finances.
